Air Penny II - Sprite

Penny Hardaway the Air Penny II has always been one of my favourites. (Actually every single pennies in the series) The Sprite is a very creative colorway brought to us by Nike in every way. More pennies needs to make a come back to remind the younger folks of one of the greatest players of all time.

Inspired by the color of Sprite, the Air Penny II Sprite is a shoe designed in Penny's specification. Nike has released the Penny II LE in both the Sprite and black volt cw. Phylon midsole is used. It features a leather and synthetic combination upper which is very durable and able to provide excellent stability when hooping.

Zoom Air under the forefoot and a slightly thickened Air unit on the heel making this shoe very comfortable in both casual and hooping. This heel Air unit is slightly softer than the one in Air Penny I while retaining its protection during heel strikes and responsiveness. The only complaint should be lack of ventilation.

Traction is one of a kind where multiple circles are spreaded only in the forefoot and heel area. Surprisingly I didn't feel too much of a slippage in fact the grip feels very solid. The non-marking outsole rubber has definitely helped.

Carbon fibre plates are also installed under the arch and both the lateral and medial sides. Although this shoe is a 15 years old design but it should still be a beast on court. Be sure to pickup a pair while you still can!
